LIFE “WDS” PROJECT

El proyecto WDS Life project develops an innovative and sustainable process for washing and degreasing wool, which has the following objectives:

  • Obtaining clean and good quality wool.
  • Increased degree of recovery of the components of dirty wool, such as the water soluble fraction (suitina), the solvent soluble fraction (wool grease, lanolin), dust or vegetable fibers (dirt).
  • Water and energy savings compared to the usual washing process in an aqueous medium, reducing the burden of wastewater.

INNPACTO “LAVASECO” PROJECT

The LAVASECO project investigated the improvement of processes and products in the wool sector. It proposes a new technology for washing wool from the closed cycle tanning sector with full recovery of waste, which allows the improvement of wool quality. The project aimed to maximize the recovery efficiency of the different wool components: the fiber itself, the fat (lanolin) and the wool powder. The IPT-2012- 0644-310000 project financed by the INNPACTO program of the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness.
